About IAPC & the IAPC Protocols
The International Audit Protocol Consortium (IAPC) is an industry-based group of multi-national corporations dedicated to promoting excellence in global EHS auditing.
Working as a peer group, the IAPC strives to identify and understand EHS legislation outside of the US as well as to learn about the best practices and emerging issues in international auditing and environmental management. To these ends, the IAPC supports the development of EHS audit protocols for 36 jurisdictions in countries around the world.
Hundreds of users at IAPC member companies use these protocols for compliance auditing, self-assessments, and as basic regulatory reference books. They also serve as an important regulatory tool in a corporate environmental management system.
Field Tested Over Ten Years. These best-in-class environmental, health and safety (EHS) protocols have been used by experienced EHS auditors at global companies since the early 1990s.
Comprehensive in Scope and Consistent Organization. The protocols are organized by subject and cover the full-range of environmental, health and safety topics applicable to a manufacturing operation. This assists auditors in efficiently conducting an EHS audit, regardless of its scope. All protocols are prepared in English to the same standard, including scope, format, protocol organization, and level of detail.
Prepared by Environmental Professionals and Supported by In-Country Legal Experts. The protocols are prepared by experienced environmental professionals who understand auditing and also manufacturing operations. They are supported by in-country legal experts who develop regulatory lists and provide interpretative guidance where necessary.
Unsurpassed Level of Detail. The protocols are not simple check-lists, but rather contain an average of 600-800 questions per country. The level of detail is sufficient to enable a user to understand each requirement and to ascertain its applicability to individual manufacturing operations.
