ART
Achieve EHS Compliance with the work of ART

Companies today face multiple challenges to reduce operational risk and satisfy customer requirements while also struggling to comply with complex and changing environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations. Recognizing the industry need for a simple and cost effective method for EH&S compliance, Citation Technologies, Inc. created ART, a simple and cost effective method to do just that.

ART was built from the ground up to enable sites to easily determine the applicable EHS regulations and manage to them. ART’s use of conditions-based questions phrased in common business language, distilled by Citation’s analysts through a review of all regulations to identify potentially applicable compliance requirements, is unique. ART users first determine applicability of various regulations to their site, then understand and define what is needed to achieve and maintain compliance. Users can also add “supplementary requirements” (customer or company policies or regulations) achieving formation of a comprehensive compliance action plan for their plant in a matter of days rather than weeks or months.

Building on ART’s key differentiation, the use of conditions-based questions in an Applicability Review, users then generate an Applicability Register that lists all of the requirements (legal and supplementary) that apply to a site—another feature unique to the ART tool. ART then enables the Applicability Register to be tied into the entire compliance process by breaking the high-level requirements into detailed compliance task lists, facilitating ongoing validation through progress checklists tied back to the Applicability Register. This process ensures currency of compliance efforts through notification of potential additions, changes or deletions to a site’s Applicability Register and corresponding compliance tasks. The system is complete and global as the tools include regulations from 76 countries and state/provincial/regional regulations for 13 of those countries.

What are the key benefits of ART?

  • Takes the complexity out of the regulatory environment, by using simple conditions-based questions to distill and define the facility to determine applicable regulations and laws.
  • Provides a comprehensive, global EHS database, plus allows incorporation of company and supplier policies and regulations.
  • Enables users to proactively manage compliance by notifying them when applicability decisions need review due to new, changed or repealed regulations and laws, guaranteeing sustainability.
  • Costs less by getting it right the first time—with little or no rework.
